Just exactly one year ago we were staying home being still in a lockdown, but since then... - we created 6 new original live shows with youth artists ages 6 to 15; - travelled to Italy to represent Canada at the international youth theatre festival Sapperlot in Brixen; - created our own and very first festival of creative children in Ottawa, Buzzing Carnival, where 250 youth artists performed for 1000+ audience; - travelled to Japan to represent North America at the World Festival of Children's Theatre in Toyama, supported by Canada Council for the Arts; - taught lots of theatre workshops and staged flashmobs internationally (about half of them were taught by our students ages 10-15!!); - participated at the international theatre conferences and online festivals; - revived our Children's Theatre Exchange program, bringing Mosaique de Montreal to Ottawa, and then completing the second half of the program in Montreal where we performed our show "Winter Bird"; - created opportunity for Carleton University students study KingDom Theatre's practices and to complete their pedagogical practicum at our theatre; - performed our first outdoor winter show at the Salvation Army Christmas event in ByWard Market; - created 5 hours of performances to present to the audience at our December Open Classes; - made thousands of pictures, videos and designs thanks to the City of Ottawa Capacity Building Grant; - bought plane tickets to Atlanta, USA and ready for our new adventure in March!...
Those are just some facts, but these achievements come from hours and hours of intense dedicated work by our team: instructors, design/promo team, parents, and of course our youth actors!
This NEW VIDEO is about this work, theatre training that we practice day by day to teach our children to speak fluently the language of theatre, to help them grow, succeed, and become the best in the world! Videographer: Konstantin Avramets
